The Tax Assessor determines the value of all real estate property in the Borough based on State prescribed standards. The Assessor establishes the value of land and improvements, maintains ownership records and acts on applications for property tax deductions for senior citizens and veterans pursuant to State law. The Assessor’s office maintains property record cards and a computer system describing each parcel of land in the Borough.
If you disagree with your assessment, you have until April 1st to file an appeal with the Bergen County Tax Board located at One Bergen County Plaza, Room 370, Hackensack, New Jersey 07601.
