Tax Collector

The Tax Collector prepares nearly 5,000 property tax bills, as well as added assessment bills, and collects and deposits the revenues received. Annual tax bills are mailed as soon as the tax rate is struck by the Bergen County Tax Board. Payments are due on or before August 1, November 1, February 1 and May 1. Thereafter, the added assessment is incorporated in the annual tax bill. Paying your taxes when due will not only benefit you but your municipality as well.

Each year a tax sale is held on properties, which have become delinquent for failure to pay property taxes or special assessments. In accordance with NJ State Statutes, the tax sale may be held after January 1 of the year following the delinquency, for four weeks prior to the sale, a public advertisement is placed in the local newspaper.

Avoid the lines… pay by mail! Just send a self-addressed stamped envelope with your payment. Your tax bill will be receipted and returned the same day.

Please visit this secure portal to process your tax bill. Please note that as of April 2, 2020 the eCheck convenience fee will change to $1.99 per transaction. There will be no change to the credit or debit payment convenience fee, which will remain the same at 2.95%
